FAQ

How safe is my e-mail address with mailgames24?

Very safe. Your e-mail address is subject to the Privacy Policy and will not be disclosed to any third party and will only be used for our own purposes. More details on this topic can be found in our terms and conditions.

Is the service of mailgames24 really free?

Yes. We won’t pay for your personal computer, your Internet access or your electricity bill, but otherwise playing mailgames24 games is for free. And there are no hidden costs - unlike other games portals, we do not require any fee for so-called "premium content" or similar stuff. You may rest assured that your chess game remains free to play even after turn 20...

How do you pay for your own costs (e.g. the server)?

To earn some money for the costs of running mailgames24 we work with partners such as Amazon and put some ads into the site and into the game e-mails. If you want to support us, go to Amazon using a link in one of our e-mails. You do not have to buy exactly the products offered, it already helps if you visit Amazon using one of our links and buy anything (the price is the same!). Thank you.

What should I do if an e-mail to my opponent or myself went missing?

Since our game service runs without error for 99.99% of the time it's probably because the game's e-mail was mistakenly labeled as spam and filtered out by an overzealous spam filter. It's best to check the "spam" folder in your e-mail program or directly on your e-mail server - large providers look for real and alleged spam already on their servers. To avoid this you can put * @ mailgames24.com on your whitelist, afterwards you will receive all your mailgames24 e-mails without problems.

Oops, my mailbox was full and the game e-mail could not be received. What now?

No problem at all. If a game e-mail cannot be delivered, it will "bounce". This means that the e-mail is returned to our server. After this the game e-mail will be sent again (daily, for a maximum of 3 days). When the e-mails still could not be delivered after three days, then the game will be deleted and your opponent will be informed.

The board of a finished game is suddenly not shown any more. Why?

After you finished a game you can look at the game board in your e-mails for one more month. After this time the board graphics are deleted to conserve server space. If you won a perfect match and want to keep the board just save it from the e-mail with a right mouseclick.

I think it’s my turn, but I cannot find the game e-mail or I might have deleted it...

There is probably a solution to the problem, assuming you have an old e-mail from this game! At the bottom right in every game e-mail you will find after "ID:" the game identification code that looks like this: 4cd57b87hge5e

Just click on the code and you’ll land on our send again-page. The game ID and game type (e.g. chess) are already filled into the form. After clicking the button mailgames24 sends again the last game e-mail to the player who has to make the next move. Voilà!

Oh, if you don’t have your old game e-mails anymore, you can inform your opponent – he can try the trick mentioned above, too!
